Infomedia to Acquire Leading Automotive Data Analytics Company

By November 12, 2018Announcements

Infomedia Ltd (ASX:IFM), a leader in parts and service software to the global automotive industry, announced today it has entered into an agreement to acquire Australian based, automotive data analytics company Nidasu.

Nidasu is the leading provider of critical automotive insights to automakers and dealerships throughout Australia and the Asia Pacific.

Nidasu’s data analytics-as-a-service platform aggregates data from many sources within the dealership technology ecosystem. It is well established and supported by many of Infomedia’s existing customers and introduces new automakers to Infomedia. The aggregated data helps automakers and dealerships uncover actionable insights to improve fixed operations productivity and customer retention.

Infomedia’s CEO Jonathan Rubinsztein said: “The industry is facing disruption on many fronts. By acquiring Nidasu, we’ll be providing our customers new and innovative technology to solve critical challenges in their businesses. This collaboration will offer significantly more value to our customers as we support them to sell more original parts, deliver excellent customer service and retain loyalty to the automotive manufacturer brand.”

The acquisition is a key step in building Infomedia’s data strategy and presents a significant opportunity to leverage Infomedia’s data business globally. Infomedia’s SaaS parts and service solutions are used by 170,000 dealership professionals globally and help generate millions of transactions every week.

The combination of Infomedia’s rich data assets and Nidasu’s leading-edge analytics-as-a-service platform provide automakers and dealerships access to deep insights that can measurably improve operational performance.

Nidasu Co-Founder and CEO Jonathan Scharrer said: “We are excited about joining Infomedia whose global footprint, strong customer relationships and quality commercial infrastructure will support the expansion of our business.”

Mr Rubinsztein added: “Data analytics remains an underinvested opportunity for both automakers and dealerships in the current environment. The Nidasu technology provides real-time insights on transactions and behaviours critical to building effective customer retention strategies for both dealerships and automakers.”

The acquisition is expected to be accretive to both revenue and earnings immediately. Contribution to the 2019 financial year result will be small. The transaction will be funded from Infomedia’s existing cash reserves and is expected to complete early in the new calendar year.
